Sam Dike joined Rice University in 2020 and is Senior Manager for Real Estate and Asset Management. His primary responsibilities include managing the performance of the Ion District and related strategic investments in support of the Rice Real Estate Company Portfolio. Prior to joining Rice, Mr. Dike was Vice President of Programs for the Houston Land Bank where he was responsible for managing the organizations single family affordable housing program, and partnership programs with the City of Houston. Prior to joining the Houston Land Bank, Mr. Dike spent nine years on staff at Houston City Council with seven of those years as Chief of Staff for the Vice Mayor Pro-Tem. Mr. Dike received a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Houston. Mr. Dike is a member of NAIOP, and ULI, and is actively involved in community and economic development efforts around Houston; serving as a member of the Board of Directors of local nonprofits, Connect Community, TXRX Labs Inc., Architecture Center Houston Foundation. Mr. Dike was also appointed by Houston City Council to serve on the Board of Directors for Harris County Improvement District #23
